Florida Native Plant Society Field Trip
Time: Saturday morning, September 21, 2019, 9 to Noon
Departure Point (at 9 sharp): Sopchoppy City Hall,105 Municipal Av.
Field Site(s): St. Marks Nat.Wildlife Refuge, Panacea Unit
---free to the public---
We’ll make stops in different habitats, high and low, in the western part of SMNWR to observe different suites of Florida native plants. Expect good photographic opportun- ities, and natural butterfly shows. Walks will not be strenuous, but may be up to 3/10 mile. Footing is uneven in places; we recommend hiking sticks. Wear long pants and shoes with closed toes. The day promises to be warm. Bring drinking water, a hat with brim, and an insect repellent.
The standard FNPS waiver of liabilities will be required of participants at the start.
Go to the Resources tab on this website, and find and download a checklist of many plants likely to be observed on the trip.
